Our mission is to solely decrease obesity in adults and children by preparing them to sustain and maintain healthy lives. We know healthy students show improved academic scores, improved classroom behavior, and higher attendance rates! Overall helping them improve their Body Mass Index (BMI), self-esteem, mood, creating better energy levels, sleep quality and better health. The services will provide more help and motivation than harm and disinterest including teaching and implementing the ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The program has a unique interest in character and career development.
AHFA uses challenging physical educational activities and fun games that encourage student interest and learning, such as music, learning about health, nutrition and exercise. Opportunities to connect with real world experiences, so students can see first hand how their physical education relates to their future.
AHFA identifies the following to balanced nutrition as critical to developing students' competency on health and nutrition; offering healthy option recipe cards to take home, trying different healthy snacks and our favorite hosting green smoothie classes!
